For this exercise, I attempted to attentively listen to the overtone series. However, I was not able to perceive the harmonic series. I must say this is my first experiment. However, I am positive that with more practice, I will be able to perceive it. The beats or ‘wobble’ effect of the F# and the Bb was quite obvious. Reflecting on why I could not perceive the harmonic series made me consider that it was due to the instrument played, as I am playing a digital piano. However, it is a high-end model. Could it well be that the harmonic series is somehow omitted from the audio samples?. In any case, I aim to do this harmonic exercise every day before my practice session. Hopefully, I will be able to perceive the harmonic series soon and, otherwise, attempt the exercise on an acoustic piano.
