There were a few methodologies involved in the creation of this exercise. In the first smooth transition by step when possible, I wrote the bass line and then doubled it, providing that a triad was given. Then I would distribute the chords as close as possible in step motion. In the harmonic series approach, if a triadic chord was given, I doubled the bass, then wrote the fifth, then the third. If a seventh chord was provided, I did write the bass, the fifth, the third, and the seventh. Although I kept the same notes for the contrasting and breaking the harmonic progression, I moved them around and did not follow the harmonic progression or the voice ranges.
